Installing MailFleet on macOS

What you will install

MailFleet for macOS ships as two universal installers. Both work on Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, and later) and Intel Macs — you never pick a separate build per chip.

Download only from mailfleet.app/download or mailfleet.app/assets/download/. Do not use Windows EXE or Linux DEB/RPM files on macOS.

• MailFleet-1.0.0-universal.dmg — disk image for drag-and-drop install
• MailFleet-1.0.0-universal.pkg — installer package with setup wizard
• Notarized and signed macOS application
• License required before activation (1 Year or Lifetime from Pricing)

DMG vs PKG — which should I use?

Both installers place the same MailFleet app on your Mac. Choose based on how you prefer to install software.

• DMG — best for most users: open the disk image, drag MailFleet.app to Applications
• PKG — best for IT-style installs: guided wizard, useful when admins deploy via standard macOS installer flow
• Processor type does not matter — both files are universal

System requirements

MailFleet runs as a native Mac desktop app. Logs and provider credentials are stored locally.

• macOS 12 Monterey or later
• Apple Silicon (M-series) or Intel Mac
• 1 GB RAM minimum — 4 GB recommended
• 200 MB free disk space
• Internet for license validation, provider connectivity, and updates
• Permission to open apps from identified developers (Gatekeeper)

Download the Mac installer

Open mailfleet.app/download. In the macOS section, click Download DMG or Download PKG.

Verify SHA-256 checksums when published with your release.

1. Go to mailfleet.app/download
2. Choose Download DMG or Download PKG
3. Wait for MailFleet-1.0.0-universal.dmg or MailFleet-1.0.0-universal.pkg to finish downloading
4. Optionally verify SHA-256 against published release notes

Install from the DMG (drag and drop)

The DMG is the fastest path for individual users. Safari may open the disk image automatically after download.

1. Double-click MailFleet-1.0.0-universal.dmg to mount the volume
2. Drag MailFleet.app into the Applications folder (or use the shortcut in the DMG window)
3. Wait for the copy to finish
4. Eject the MailFleet disk image
5. Open MailFleet from Applications or Spotlight (Cmd + Space, type MailFleet)

Install from the PKG (setup wizard)

The PKG runs the standard macOS installer. You may need administrator credentials to complete setup.

1. Double-click MailFleet-1.0.0-universal.pkg
2. Click Continue through the introduction and license screens
3. Select the install destination (usually Macintosh HD)
4. Enter your Mac administrator password when prompted
5. Click Install and wait for the process to complete
6. Launch MailFleet from Applications

Gatekeeper and security approval

macOS may block MailFleet on first open with a message like "cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified." This is common for apps downloaded outside the Mac App Store.

Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway, or Control-click MailFleet.app in Applications → Open → confirm. Only approve builds downloaded from mailfleet.app.

• First launch may need Open Anyway in Privacy & Security
• Control-click → Open works for signed apps on first run
• MDM-managed Macs may need IT approval — contact enterprise sales for rollout help

Activate your license

On first launch, MailFleet prompts for license activation. Purchase at pay.mailfleet.app/buy/1year ($49/year) or pay.mailfleet.app/buy/lifetime ($79) if needed.

Activation requires outbound HTTPS. VPN or firewall rules blocking MailFleet will cause activation to fail.

1. Launch MailFleet from Applications
2. Complete Gatekeeper approval if prompted
3. Enter your license key on the activation screen
4. Confirm activation succeeded before adding providers

Permissions and network access

Allow network access when macOS prompts so MailFleet can reach license servers and your SMTP/API providers.

Little Snitch, corporate firewalls, or VPN split tunnels may block outbound SMTP ports.

• Allow internet access for license validation and updates
• Permit SMTP/API ports your provider requires
• Provider credentials stay on your Mac — MailFleet does not host sending infrastructure

Uninstall or reinstall

To remove MailFleet, quit the app, then drag MailFleet.app from Applications to Trash. Empty Trash to complete removal.

To upgrade, download the latest DMG or PKG and install over the existing app, or remove the old app first if you prefer a clean install.

• PKG and DMG installs both place MailFleet.app in /Applications
• Export or back up local logs before uninstall if you need audit history

Troubleshooting

Common Mac issues: Gatekeeper blocks, incomplete copy from DMG, or network restrictions after install.

• App will not open — Control-click → Open, or Open Anyway in Privacy & Security
• DMG will not mount — re-download MailFleet-1.0.0-universal.dmg; verify checksum
• PKG fails — re-download MailFleet-1.0.0-universal.pkg; confirm admin password
• Wrong file type — use macOS DMG or PKG only, not Windows EXE or Linux packages
• Activation fails — check internet, VPN, and license key
• Provider test fails — confirm outbound ports; see Adding SMTP Providers
